PAT PLACE: 'THE END, 1981-INFINITY' The photographs of Pat Place, the artist and founder of the band Bush Tetras, give you appropriation art in the raw, without high production values. Affixed to unframed sheets of paper is a selection of the more than a thousand photographs of movie end titles that Ms. Place has shot (from television) since 1981. Minus the glamour of enlargement, lamination or glazing, the basic anthropological evidence nonetheless illuminates the vagaries of a slight but essential convention, the changing tastes and technologies of film and something of the times themselves. Jane Kim/Thrust Projects, 114 Bowery, near Grand Street, Lower East Side, (212) 431-4802, thrustprojects.com; closes on Sunday. (Smith)
